Summer Internships

The Jefferson County Greenways' internship program offers students a unique opportunity to develop professional experience working at Jefferson County's most beloved and visited urban greenspaces.

Four paid positions will be offered, including two Environmental Education internships, one Land Conservation internship, and one Geographic Information Systems (GIS) internship. We are no longer accepting applications for Summer 2025 interns, but check back in early 2026 for more information on future opportunities.

Environmental Education

The Environmental Education Intern will work directly with Emily Hutto, the Lead Naturalist and Wildlife Care Specialist, and other program staff. Interns will lead field trips and public programs for youth and families and assist with wildlife care responsibilities.

Land Conservation

The Land Conservation Intern will work directly with the Director of Land and Water Conservation, Charles Yeager, and other park staff. The intern will gain hands-on experience and knowledge in land stewardship and conservation methodologies.

Geographic Info Systems

The GIS Intern will work directly with the Director of Land and Water Conservation, Charles Yeager.  They will use their GIS skills to gain hands-on, real-world experience while providing significant contributions to our land stewardship activities.
